Dundas Rotary Ice Pad Opening Day

The Ice Pad project under the auspices of the Dundas Valley Sunrise Club was officially opened on Feb. 7, 2009. The Mayor of Hamilton Fred Eisenberger, assisted by Russ Powers and Bill Armstrong cut the ceremonial ribbon. An exceptional turnout of citizens of all ages were on hand - mostly skating. Don Knight, a Dundas hero of Olympic figure skating fame, skated on the ice to demonstrate this great ice surface. This addition to the Dundas Driving Park will make the outdoor skating rink a fun winter destination for families of all ages.

Congratulations Carl Fraser for the project’s vision, and the Dundas Valley Sunrise Club for the leadership in completing this recreational jewel.
