Rotary Environment Awareness Award
One of the keynote events in the Dundas Rotary 60th Anniversary Year was establishing the Rotary Environment Awareness Award at the newly opened Sir William Osler Public Elementary School, located on Governor's Road, Dundas.
At the school's Assembly Day, June 16, 2008, Principal Maria Rowles invited Rotarian's Ken Hall and Jim Nicol to present the awards to the winning Grade 7 students:
Third Place: Alex Bangs, Laura Byrne, Tom Gibson and Nicole King - $30
Second Place: Julia Stender and Nurefsan Davulcu - $40
First Place: Ashley Cooke - $100
The Rotary Club of Dundas is indebted to science teacher Sue Montesi and Maria Rowles for the willing support they gave to this Rotary initiative. The enthusiasm shown by the Grade 7 students to work on environment issues and studies is really gratifying.
